Born in Terrassa (Barcelona), a city where she lives and works.
With over 20 years of professional career, Gemma Miralda has traced a transversal journey that goes from documentary and photojournalism work to the most personal artistic production. Her work is versatile and this allows her to face a variety of subjects that apply at different photographic needs. She is on a permanent creative mood that feeds from her own experience and all confluences in her daily bases work. Her photographs have been published regularly in the newspaper La Vanguardia and its supplements as a daily contributor from 2008 to 2017. In addition, as a freelancer, her work has been published in several media as El 9 Nou, El Periódico de Catalunya and its Dominical, Avui, 7K, Yo Dona, Integral, Traveler Conde Nast, Lonely Planet, Libération, and Het Parool. She has also contributed with the Associated Press Agency during her stay in La Paz, Bolivia. Simultaneously, she regularly teaches photography at Illa Arts and Crafts School, Sabadell.
